WhatsApp offers a convenient feature that allows users to link multiple devices to their account, ensuring seamless communication across various platforms. In this article, we will guide you through the process of linking devices on WhatsApp, making it easier for you to manage your conversations across smartphones.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your main smartphone
Start by unlocking your main smartphone and opening the WhatsApp application. Ensure that you are using the latest version of the app to access the most up-to-date features and security enhancements.
Step 2: Access the overflow menu
Once you’re inside the WhatsApp app, locate the three vertical dots, often referred to as the overflow menu. You can usually find this in the top-right corner of the screen. Tap on the overflow menu to reveal a list of additional options.
Step 3: Navigate to Linked devices
From the overflow menu, scroll down and look for the “Linked devices” option. Tap on it to access the settings related to connecting and managing your WhatsApp account across multiple devices.
Step 4: Link a device
In the Linked devices section, you’ll find the option to “Link a device.” Tap on this option to initiate the process of connecting a new device to your WhatsApp account.
Step 5: Scan the QR code
WhatsApp will prompt you to scan a QR code displayed on the device you want to link. Pick up the other phone and access the WhatsApp QR code. Use your main smartphone’s camera to scan the code, establishing a secure connection between the two devices.
Alternatively, if you encounter any issues with QR code scanning, you can select the “Link with phone number instead” option. This will guide you through an alternative method of linking the devices by confirming your phone number.
